11th Summer Conference in Regional Science

Summer 2021 at the Thünen Institute in Braunschweig

 

The topic of the 11th summer conference in regional science of the German-speaking section (GfR) of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) is „Structural change in rural and urban economies“. The conference is jointly organized by the Thünen Institute of Rural Studies, the Technische Universität Dresden and the Technische Universität Braunschweig.

The keynote speakers are:

A further highlight of the conference is the presentation of the August Lösch Prize 2020 which goes to Prof. Cécile Gaubert, Ph.D. (UC Berkley) for her research on Firm Sorting and Agglomeration, Tourism and Economic Development: Evidence on Mexico's Coastline, and Optimal Spatial Policies, Geography and Sorting. The prestigious prize is jointly granted by the August Lösch Association and the City of Heidenheim (Germany) and intended to reward outstanding academic research in the field of Regional Science. It carries an award of Euro 4000.

18.05.2020: Conference postponed

Due to the uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the 11th Summer Conference in Regional Science originally scheduled for 1 and 2 July 2020 has been postponed to Summer 2021.
